About Therese

I feel like one of the luckiest people on the planet to be able to say “I read for a living!”

I started as a developmental and copy-editor while living in Washington, D.C. in 2013. In 2017 I moved home to Wisconsin, where I serve as co-president on the board of Plowshare Fair Trade and Education for Peace and as treasurer of the Waukesha County Green Team. When I’m not volunteering, reading, editing, or writing, I may be wandering through a local park, identifying edible berries.

I'm walking through the Waukesha Farmer's Market carrying two armloads of grass-woven baskets from Bolgatanga, Ghana, to sell at Plowshare's Fair Trade booth

You’ve come to the right website if you’d like to learn more about the editing services I offer or check out my writing. My blog shares occasional life updates and writing advice.

I write (not always under this name) science fiction, fantasy, and love stories. Some of my darker work has been described, to my secret pleasure, as horror. My reading and editing span even more genres than that! My fiction has appeared in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Daily Science Fiction, Analog Magazine, Aries, the anthologies Thoughtcrime Experiments and Sword and Sorceress XXIV. I’ve also released short story collections gathering my work on certain themes.
